Thanksgiving
First of all, Christmas needs to wait its turn. Every year the Christmas decorations are put out in store right after Halloween, and people are always saying, "what about Thanksgiving?" It has become a forgotten holiday, don't get me wrwong though there is not a thing that I don't love about Christmas, except the cold. I just want to know what happened to sitting down with your extended family at an enormous makeshift table and just eating until you can't open your mouth anymore while telling stories about what had happened this year. Now everyone I talk to is headed to Mexico to celebrate Thanksgiving or going out to a nice bar and grill with their immediate family.

Haha, fa sho - maybe part of the reason it gets forgotten is that there are no crazy costumes or 'santa clause-type figures' to get children excited! Maybe we just need to make Squanto more exciting for elementary-schoolers....shoot, all they need to do is make a Squanto video game.....'Adventures of Squanto - indian commando!', and all the kids will be on-board and pumped up 4 thanksgiving!

I just thought it was necessary to comment that my family will be partaken in the wonderful, enormous makeshift table. We have family coming from all over and I am so excited. I have to say though I am really excited for all the Christmas decorations. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I feel like, for me, Thanksgiving comes up so fast that there never really is time to decorate. All of sudden its here and that means that Christmas is right around the corner, which makes me very very very excited. But Thanksgiving could become great. We need more Thanksgiving commercials and haha I bet those Squanto video games could go over very well. (Jayne)
ReplyDeleteThis is so true at the shopping centers. I try to limit my time in big box stores this time of year because they are filled with christmas music and red and silver paraphenalia... I love the family aspect of thanksgiving and christmas, but all the junk just makes me sick!
